Review

The Ultreo Ultrasound is a high priced electric toothbrush that is unlike any other model.  Ultreo has developed a new kind of brushing method that they call ultrasound waveguide technology.  This allows the bristles to create microbubbles that are activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing.  Be aware that Ultreo is a new company, and they do most of there sales online instead of in traditional stores.

It's a little confusing to understand exactly what the ultrasound waveguide technoly is, but that doesn't really matter when you know that it works well at cleaning your teeth.  This electric toothbrush is proven to fight plaque, whiten teeth, and promote gum health better than a manual toothbrush.  Many users of the Ultrasound feel that they get a great clean feeling after brushing.  There are a couple of things to be aware of when using the ultrasound technology.  First, it needs a fluid medium to operate, so make sure you have a lot of water in your mouth.  And second, you only need a small, pea-sized amount of toothpaste to use this electric toothbrush.

The biggest downside of the Ultreo Ultrasound is the very high price tag.  Even though it has a similar price to the Sonicare FlexCare model, you'll probably end up paying more with the Ultrasound in the long run.  This is because the Ultrasound electric toothbrush will need an expensive head replacement every 3 or so months, and this will cost you over $20.  Another potential problem with the brush head is that it is on the large size, and this will be unsuitable for some people.  It would also be nice if Ultreo develops some other types of brush heads for their electric toothbrush.

Since you are paying a premium price, realize you do get a lot of nice extra features on your electric toothbrush.  The two-minute timer that signals recommended brushing time is nice, and there are indicators that clearly show when the brush head needs to be replaced and when the Ultrasound needs to be recharged.  Add to that the attractive travel case, and you are getting some nice extras for your electric toothbrush.
