Review

The Oral B Professional Care 9400 is an extremely popular model, and according to many, it's also the best electric toothbrush sold today.  Oral B touts its "smart technology", which ensures that you get a high level of pressure on your teeth and gums, but it won't be so high as to provide a harsh feeling.  You can also customize your ideal level of power by choosing among three different cleaning speeds.  Most users prefer the highest setting, and indeed, many say this gives them a "fresh from the dentist" feel.

One of the nice features of this electric toothbrush is that it comes with the special FlossAction brush head.  This is meant to simulate a flossing effect by using micro pulse bristles.  There are three special speeds for the FlossAction accessory:  clean, massage, and soft.  By default, the high powered clean mode is selected.

Another perk about the Professional Care 9400 is that it is great for travel.  It can be a bit of a hassle to lug an electric toothbrush around on a trip, but the included carrying case and SmartPlug power adapter make travel easy.  The case is made of hard plastic which will safely protect your electric toothbrush.  And if you're traveling to another country, the SmartPlug adapts to any voltage worldwide, so you can plug it in anywhere.  Additionally, if as long as you're not traveling for an extended period of time, you won't have to worry about packing the charging base station, since when fully charged, this toothbrush will stay charged for a full two weeks.

Another feature of the Professional Care 9400 is that it contains an LCD display.  This digital display on the handle of the electric toothbrush says when the brush head should be replaced and tells you when the batteries should be recharged.  It will also time your brushing for the dentist recommended time of two minutes.  However, while you're brushing it's not easy to see the display, so this is not all that useful.  Though when the two minutes are up, you can always enjoy the happy face on the digital display!

As great as this Oral B electric toothbrush is, it's still not the best model for everyone.  It uses long bristles and a relatively large brush head that can make it difficult to use for people with smaller mouths.  It's probably not the best model to give your children.  Of course, the high price tag will turn some people off as well.  If money is an issue, realize that you can find an electric toothbrush that is almost as good as this one for a much lower price.
