Review

With the success of the Sonicare brand, Oral B has created an electric toothbrush that is designed to compete with the Sonicare Elite.  While the Oral B Sonic Complete is the slightly cheaper of the two, they are both similar models, and neither is the clear-cut superior electric toothbrush.  Ultimately, the better one is a matter of personal preference.

Although the two models are similar, the Sonic Complete aggressively advertises that it is the superior model.  It boasts that it will whiten your teeth 25% better than Sonicare Elite in removing coffee, tea, or tobacco stains.  Also, this electric toothbrush is effective in fighting gingivitis and is great for the gums in general.  It accomplishes this by using two types of patented bristles: the angled CrissCross bristles and the longer Power Tip bristles.

One of the nice things with this electric toothbrush is all the modes and settings.  It uses three levels of power.  The normal mode, "clean", is quite powerful.  If you want a less intense brushing, you can use the "soft" setting.  And it also has a "massage" setting, which is supposed to help your gums.

There are some other good, more standard features on the Sonic Complete.  The two-minute timer with 30 second signals is nice.  It also comes with two brush heads, which is a good bonus.  It has one of the nicer base stations for an electric toothbrush, and it can hold three extra brush heads in it.  Also, if you do a lot of traveling, just put your electric toothbrush in the travel case and know it can run for two weeks without needing to be recharged.

While the Sonic Complete is a very nice brush, it does seem to have a slightly higher rate of failure than some of the more expensive electric toothbrush models.  That's not to say you can't expect at least a few years of use from it, and it still has a two-year limited warranty.  And since it has a slightly cheaper price that the similar Sonicare Elite, this tends to balance out the questions of reliability.
